The Warsaw Community Drivers Education Co-op recently completed its first driving contest. Competition included intown driving, parallel parking, evasive maneuvers, quick stop, controlled weaving and a written exam. The two top competitors are eligible for the state contest on April 29 at Indiana State University's Driver and Traffic Safety Center. Chris Roberts and Corey Corner are eligible for the state contest. Alternates are Darrell Farrington and Patrice Kimes.
Two pupils in the Warsaw Community Schools system have won top prizes at the 27th annual Northern Indiana Regional Science and Engineering Fair held at Bethel College, Mishawaka.
Warsaw was one of 17 Indiana cities that was on the honor roll of the National Traffic Safety Council for going through 1948 without a traffic fatality.
John Estep, of the northwest part of this county, near Nappanee, has a peculiar stone relic, which he uncovered on his farm. The stone is perfectly smooth and is drilled through with a perfect roundhole indicating it was some stone age tool or weapon.
