    Air Force Tech. Sgt. Timothy Kline, son of Lee and Lorine Kline, Warsaw, and an air transportation supervisor at Tinker Air Force Base, Okla., has received the Humanitarian Service Medal.

The medal is awarded to military members who have provided assistance in a national or international disaster.

April 21 1981

    Tony Deeter, the most valuable player on last season's Warsaw Community High School football team, will attend Valparaiso University on an athletic scholarship.

The Tigers' starting fullback for the past 2-1/2 seasons, the 5-11, 190-pound Deeter will be used either as a fullback or tight end by the Crusaders, who plan to utilize the WCHS senior's outstanding blocking abilities.

    J.D. Geiger, Charles Compliment and John Hammersley ... all state police officers ... and Wallace Kirkendall recently purchased a Taylor-craft airplane of Joe Carlin. All are taking instruction in flying at the present time.

    Joyce Saylor, matron of Warsaw chapter of OES, Katherine Leonhard, and Mamie Conrad will spend Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of next week in Indianapolis, where they will attend the annual meeting of the Grand Chapter of OES. The meeting will be held in the Murat Theatre.
