In one of the stranger cases in Kosciusko County zoning history, a small business involving a lion, tiger, bear and cougar was granted approval Tuesday to continue its operation. Members of the Kosciusko County Board of Zoning Appeals granted permission for a home occupation to Joni and Judy Putt, owners of JOJU Animal Entertainment.
Daniel Bell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bell, 308 Wabash Avenue, Wakarusa, has been named the recipient of a National Merit Scholarship. Dan is a senior at NorthWood High School and has the distinction of being the first NorthWood student to receive a merit scholarship.
Frank Adams, former Claypool High School athlete, was scheduled to be in DePauw University's starting lineup this afternoon for the baseball opener at Hanover. Adams, who played American Legion junior baseball here several years ago, will hold down the third base position.
Aaron and Mose Landis, near Akron, will soon be 79 and probably hold the record as the oldest twins in Fulton County. They are hale and hearty, live alone and do all of their own work. They were born in Ohio and came to Indiana in 1857, locating on a farm east of Akron.
