Winners in the poster contest sponsored by Warsaw Community High School Students Against Driving Drunk and Mothers Against Drunk Driving were recently announced.
Serving as a page in the Indiana State Senate recently was Tammy Jessup. She served as a Senate page for one full day as the guest of State Senator John B. Augsburger (R-Milford) at the 101st General Assembly. She is a student at Milford Junior High, where she is in the eighth grade.
On June 21, 1953, balloons were sent up by children of the Sunday school of First Baptist Church with notes attached reading as follows: "Greetings from our Sunday school. Send me a post card telling me where you found the balloon and also include your name." A letter was received from the mayor of Edgerton, Ohio, dated March 26, including the note, the deflated balloon, a letter from the mayor, Fred W. Tomlinson, and a clipping from the Bryan Times newspaper concerning the story of the balloon.
Genita Smith entertained the Fidelis Club at a surprise party Saturday evening for members of the club who are attending college. Those present were Martha Slater, Lucile Coyle, Margaret Barr, Marie Dederick, Gertrude Boyer, Clover Davis, Rebecca Wilt, Juanita Fawley and Mary Jane and Helen Edgar.
