Pamela is a sixth grader at Akron Elementary School, and her brother is a Tippecanoe Valley High School sophomore. Their parents are Mr. and Mrs. Jack Horn, Rt. 2, Akron.
The Emery Murphys recently found a beat-up government weather instrument in a field on their farm a mile and a half south of Atwood. They speculated that the parachute might have failed to open properly when the balloon to which it was attached burst at high altitude. At any rate, the instruction tag was gone and the gadget appeared to have been shattered and seemed to be partly gone. They planned to take it to the post office where such things are usually handled.
