    It seems an area nursing home is going a little overboard in its cleaning procedures. According to Warsaw public works superintendent Kim Leake, the facility has been accidentally flushing bed sheets, diapers and towels into the sewer system.

All that fabric tends to get caught up in the city's water pumps and has burned up a few engines, each of which costs about $2,000 to replace.

    Two area women, Mrs. Jeff Shepherd, Rt. 1, Leesburg, and Mrs. Clarence Dickey, Flagstone Terrace, Warsaw, appeared on stage at the Embassy Theater, Fort Wayne, during the annual March of Dimes Telethon with television star Erin Moran, who plays Joanie Cunningham in the "Happy Days" comedy. Moran discussed aspects of the hit "Happy Days" show with the two local women and her voice coach at a luncheon.

April 18 1952

    Patty Parks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P.D. Parks, of Canal Street, Winona Lake, received her cap at a formal candlelight capping service at Ball State Teachers College, Muncie. This recognition was given for completion of six months of preliminary training in the school of nursing.

    Thirteen pupils will graduate this year from Etna Green High School on the evening of April 27, Principal Charles H. Kern announced.

The graduates are Nellie Mikel, Helen Forney, Marjorie Cain, Eva Miller, Irma Rapp, Erma Shively, Ida Feldman, Harold Snider, Lester Baker, Joe Fretz, Joe Hatfield, Dale White and Walter Dinkeldein.
