    Dana Creighton of Warsaw and Steve Nicodemus added to their long lists of postseason honors by being named the area high school basketball Players of the Year by Fort Wayne's Channel 21.

Creighton led the Lady Tigers to a runner-up finish in the girls state finals. Nicodemus had a starring role in Whitko's stunning charge into the Final Four, where the Wildcats were eliminated by eventual state champion Gary Roosevelt.

April 18 1976

    Alpha Lambda, the Warsaw chapter of Kappa Kappa Kappa sorority, won first place for the best activity record in its chapter scrapbook and an honorable mention for publicity during a Province Ten convention this month in Columbia City.

Attending the convention from Alpha Lambda chapter were Ann Dickerson, Peg Diffendorfer, Vennae Cross, Paula Heckman, Dorothy Hogan, Ruth Lessig and June Reed.

April 18 1951

    Joe J. Ettinger, Warsaw, was granted two of the 961 patents issued this week, according to official announcement of the United States patent office. On May 19, 1950, Ettinger filed patent application on a walking heel. On June 2, 1950, Ettinger filed application for a patent on a hip-fracture drill guide. The Warsaw inventor has assigned patent rights in both inventions to Zimmer Manufacturing Co., Warsaw.

April 18 1926

    Warsaw will be represented at least by two persons at a meeting of county agents and bankers of northeastern Indiana which will be held on May 20, the place of meeting to be announced later.

Those expecting to attend are Will S. Rogers, of the Indiana Loan and Trust Co., and Tom A. Parker, county agriculture agent.
