    Ben Boesenberg, the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Boesenberg of Warsaw, has received the Most Improved Fencer Award and the Captain Short Memorial Sabre Award for the 1994-95 fencing season at Culver Military Academy.

April 18 1980

    Raymond Slusher was named Pierceton's 1980 Citizen of the Year at the Chamber of Commerce banquet held at Pierceton Middle School. He was honored for his long involvement in community affairs including youth athletics, fire department, EMS and the Pierceton park.


50 Years Ago

April 18 1955

    Six local women are making plans to attend the state convention of the Tri Kappa sorority to be held April 15 and 16, at French Lick.

Those attending will be Mrs. Jerry Gerard, president; Mrs. George Haymond, corresponding secretary; Mrs. Ray Strayer Jr., public relations chairman; Mrs. William Scoles and Mrs. James Johnson, of the active chapter; and Mrs. J. Glee Miner, of the associate chapter in Warsaw.

    A trio composed of Genita Smith and Clifford Menzie, of Warsaw, and Maurice Kuhn, of Pierceton, will broadcast a musical program over station WOWO, Fort Wayne, at 11:45 Tuesday morning.
