VINCENNES - Eric Schaekel, a freshman member of the Vincennes University men's swim team, was honored during a recent awards banquet.
Schaekel, a 1993 graduate of Wawasee High School, received the Anchor Award for the Trailblazers. Schaekel, a resident of Syracuse, received the award for his consistent, effort and teamwork in practices and meets.

Eleven members of the Triton Future Business Leaders of America Chapter participated in the FBLA state contest at Ball State University. Triton had the most individual winners of any school.

Members of the Warsaw Moose Lodge have elected John Pinkerton, 318 W. Prairie St., as their new governor and have voted to participate in "Operation Easter Carlift," in which the organization will furnish transportation to all person who desire to attend church on Easter Sunday.
Other new officers elected included Charles Wagner, junior governor; Bob Van Kirk, prelate; and Bob Wilson, treasurer. All three are from Warsaw. Russell Henderson, of Pierceton, was named trustee for a two-year term.

ROCHESTER - Helen House, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter House who live on the Barrett cement road on the north shore of the lake, is believed has the honor of being the first bather at Lake Manitou this year.
