    Rebecca I. Doll, MIlford, was presented the Citizen's Award by the Indiana Library Association and the Indiana Library Trustee Association. She is the president of the local Friends of the Library.

    James Given, son of Helen Given, Warsaw, has been named valedictorian of the 1972 graduating class at Warsaw High School. Elizabeth Bowman and Daniel Moeller were named co-salutatorians.

April 14 1947

    The high steel towers being erected around Koscisko County by the U.S. Geodetic Survey have occasioned a lot of interest. Some residents thought that television was here. Others just wondered what was coming off. Almost before the last bolt was in one of the towers, we hear, workmen found on the top platform, more than 100 feet above the ground, an adventurous little boy.


75 Years Ago
April 14 1922

    Corn is food for hens, but John Barleycorn is not. This was proved in a raid at Allen Street, when 60 hens, each with a horrible jag, were found wabbling about the henhouse. A search revealed a distilling apparatus in the henhouse and on top of the mash was a hen's nest containing six eggs. A 25 gallon still and 25 gallons of moonshine were captured.
