    Claypool native Merle Shively, top pitcher for several Kosciusko County and Fort Wayne area teams in the 1940's will be inducted into the Fort Wayne baseball Hall of Fame later this month. Shively, a right-handed pitcher, started his career with an American Legion team in Burket, as well as playing for Claypool High School.

    Two encourage children in the fifth grade in Kosciusko County Schools to become involved with conservation, a poster contest has been underway for some time. Each child who made a poster will receive a white pine tree seedling to plant and care for.

    Zane Cannon, expert window decorator and artist, at the Schrader Store, plans to teach summer art classes. he instructs in oil painting, etching, water color painting, block drawing and store decoration. Zane is the husband of the former Gloria Phillips of Warsaw.

    Excellent results were obtained last night by the Eagles lodge over their radiophone, recently installed by C. R. Phoebus. Concerts, music and lectures were heard from Newardk, N.J., Detroit, Chicago, and Indianapolis.
