    NORFOLK, Va. - Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class James Brown recently graduated from Field Medical Service School.

Brown is the son of Pauline Brown, South Whitley. The 1977 graduate of Whitko High School joined the Navy in 1983.

    Eleven-year-old Terry A. Holloway, son of Linda Holloway, Rt. 1, Mentone, had quite a surprise when he went sucker fishing with his uncle David Kotterman last week. Instead of a sucker, he landed a 13-pound, 36-1/2 inch Northern Pike. Terry was fishing on the Tippecanoe River and using night crawlers.

    Oliver R. Bodkin Jr., Warsaw, will be installed as the new exalted ruler of the Warsaw Elks Lodge in a ceremony at the Elks home.

Other officers being installed are: Ernest L. Kelly, esteemed leading knight; Arthur J. DeWispelaere, esteemed loyal knight; Robert E. Meade, esteemed lecturing knight; Glenn Carpenter, secretary; Jack Whiteneck, treasurer; Clifford Roberds, trustee for five years; and John J. "Jake" Stumpf, tiler.

    Dale E. Gerster, Warsaw High School boy, who has made a record in learning to play the saxophone will broadcast from station WOWO at Fort Wayne Friday afternoon between 3 and 4:30. He will be accompanied on the piano by his instructor, Prof. O.M. Baker.

Dale is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward F. Gerster, 1121 E. Fort Wayne St.
