    Two Kosciusko County residents will compete on the "Hoosier Millionaire" televised contest.

Kim Plew, Warsaw, and Linda K. Smith, Pierceton, were selected to be among the six contestants vying to win $1 million.

April 13 1975

    Ted (Chris) Schenkel, a junior at Wawasee High School and son of Chris and Fran Schenkel, Tippecanoe Lake, soloed in a 150 Cessna aircraft at Warsaw airport this week. He had nine hours of instruction before taking the aircraft up alone. He is 16.

Following the solo, the traditional rite of having his shirt tail cut off was part of Schenkel's initiation into the somewhat exclusive league of flyers.

    Marlene Hatfield, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hatfield, Warsaw, has been awarded a scholarship at Ball State Teachers' College, Muncie. She is a senior in Warsaw High School.

    In the current issue of The Armour Engineer, a periodical published by Armour Institute, Chicago, Edward L. Nelson, formerly of Warsaw, contributes an especially interesting and instructive article on Radio Telephone Broadcasting. Edward Nelson is a son of Mr. and Mrs. David H. Nelson.
