    Andy Holderman made the "Wright" choice.

That is certainly because the Manchester High School basketball star signed a national letter of intent to continue his hoop career next season at Wright State University, located just outside Dayton, Ohio.

April 12 1975

    Todd Brown and Greg Stevens, eighth-graders at Warsaw Junior High School, won a blue ribbon for their videotape film project in the Regional Media Fair at the I.U.-Purdue campus in Fort Wayne recently.

Their film, a tribute to Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse, took first place over seven entries from other secondary schools.

April 12 1950

    Calvin Buss, Etna Green, a retired farmer, celebrated his 90th birthday anniversary April 3. Although he moved from his farm 31 years ago, he returned there occasionally and enjoyed doing odd jobs, such as pruning the grape arbor, moving weeds and making minor repairs on the buildings.

April 12 1925

    "Chick" Nelson, professional golf instructor and player at the Miami Country Club, Fort Wayne, was here to lay out the new Warsaw course on the west banks of Winona Lake, selected places for the greens and pronounced the course one of the most beautiful in this part of the state. The holes will be laid out so that in the afternoon play will not be against the sun. Some 65 lakefront lots will be offered for sale soon, near the clubhouse sites. They will probably sell for $250.
