    The U.S. Achievement Academy announced that Kiley K. Foster has been named an All-American Scholar.

Foster, who attends Tippecanoe Valley Middle School, will appear in the All-American Scholar Yearbook, which is published nationally. She is the daughter of Gregg and Karen Foster of Mentone. Grandparents are Norman and Sadie Summy and Arlene Foster, all of Warsaw.

    Making preparations for a trip to Finland is Kim Vanderpool, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Vanderpool, Warsaw.

Kim is participating in the Lions Club Youth Exchange Program and will represent the Leesburg Lions Club, of which her father is a member. Kim is a nurse's aide at Miller's Merry Manor and plans to pursue a career in nursing at IUPU Fort Wayne this fall.

September 8 1959

    Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hauth, of Warsaw, visited in Plainfield recently with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. George Dunn. They also brought back from Bloomington their daughter, Barbara, a delegate to Girls' State under sponsorship of the Warsaw American Legion Auxiliary. Miss Hauth was elected clerk-treasurer of her city and served as one of the Federalist party's three cheerleaders.

    Mrs. John Matchaett and children, Sophia and James, returned home recently from a motor trip with Mrs. J.W. Adams, Miss Jennie Collins and niece Miss Helen Collins. Their trip extended to Seattle, Wash., and north near Canada.
