    Catherine S. Ott of Warsaw was recently honored as the top independent beauty consultant in personal sales at Mary Kay's annual achievement recognition and business-building seminar, held at the Dallas Convention Center July 14-30.

Ott was the number one consultant out of 90,000 in the sapphire area.

    The winner of the grand prize, a grandfather clock, in Glover Furniture's anniversary drawing was Joy Renier, Warsaw. The retail value of the clock is $795.

    Martha Firestone, of Syracuse, and Mary Gawthrop, Etna Green, have received red ribbons for their participation in the 4-H Special Home Economics demonstrations at Indiana State Fair.

Firestone was entered in the raw and frozen vegetable division. Gawthrop gave a baking demonstration.

    Edson D. Shirey, formerly employed at the Gill Grill restaurant here for the past five months, has purchased the Carl Hartman restaurant on South Buffalo Street and will reopen it Saturday, inviting his old friends and the public to enjoy the good meals served there. William Keller will continue as chef.
