     The Warsaw boys soccer team made history at the CCAC recently defeating Northern Lakes Conference foe Concord 2-0. Since 1994 when boys soccer was first included in the NLC standings, Concord has had the upperhand on Warsaw, defeating the Tigers in each matchup. Overall, Warsaw had not defeated Concord since the 1993 season. Joel Popenoose and Austin Evans netted goals for the Tigers, while Adam Hodge had an assist.

    Two Warsaw families participated in the intercambrio exchange program whereby children from Mexico between the ages of 11 and 16 live with an American family for two months in the summer. In the winter, Costa Rican youths participate. The Thomas Earhart and Richard Dilliing family hosted two Mexican boys this summer.
50 Years Ago
    Pat McClure son of Mrs. Mary  McClure, Warsaw received a check for $1,000 from Richard Hamm, president of the Warsaw Optimist Club, and Robert Boley, chairman of the Optimist scholarship committee. He was  named recipient of the annual scholarship award. Pat, salutatorian of the 1962 graduating class of Warsaw High School, will enroll at Purdue University to study electrical engineering.

    Mrs. Charles Pyke and daughter, Martha Pyke, instructors at the Winona School of Photography, returned recently to their home in Peoria after spending the summer at the “You Will Like It” cottage, Winona Lake.
   John Dickey has returned to his home at North Manchester after spending the summer at Winona Lake where he was employed at the Winona Dairy.
