10 Years Ago Classic Arts Programs Inc. has formed a group of community children’s choirs called the Lakeland Youth Chorale. This is the group that supports the Warsaw Community Choir. 25 Years Ago Indiana University basketball coach Bob Knight and members of his coaching staff were in Warsaw recently to visit Warsaw Community High School senior Rick Fox; his guardians, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Gossman; and WCHS coach Al Rhodes. The following night, Georgia Tech coach Bobby Cremins was in town for the same reason. They are just two of the many major college coaches attempting to recruit Fox. 50 Years Ago Mr. and Mrs. Jerry D. Mollenhour have moved to Indianapolis, where Jerry will be in Indiana Medical School for the next four years. Jerry has completed three years of pre-med at Purdue. Jerry is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Mollenhour, Warsaw. 75 Years Ago The evening service at the Methodist Church in Warsaw was in charge of Homer Rodeheaver, who conducted a most entertaining program of song, which was made even more interesting when he told of his experiences in Africa. The purpose of this trip to Africa was to learn whether the black race of that continent had folk songs, and if they did have, to make a collection of them. It was found that they do not have folk songs, but sing only the songs taught them by missionaries.
