    Town and Country Garden Club of Warsaw presented the 1997 Green Thumb Award to Robert and Paula Hanson for their green paradise on Robin Drive; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Edwards for their landscape gardening on Center Street; Father Terry fisher for his peaceful retreat on Harrison Street; and Ron and Marsha Scott for their many gardens in Mentone.

    Warsaw Community High School runners finished in the top four positions as the Tigers defeated Huntington North 22-35 in a cross country meet at V&B Golf Club.

Sophomore Matt Rhodes of Warsaw finished first in 17:50 and was followed to the finish line, in order, by teammates Doug Smith, Sean Rhodes and Istvan Bardos.

    Judith Baker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Baker, Leesburg, has been initiated into Alpha Iota, international honorary business sorority. Judith, a graduate of Warsaw High School, is making an excellent record at the South Bend College of Commerce.
