   Jenna Gross, daughter of Jerry and Jill Gross, attended Hoosier Girls State June 23 through 29 at Indiana State University, Terre Haute. Gross was chosen by Mentone American Legion Auxiliary Unit 425 to attend. A senior at Tippecanoe Valley High School, Gross was elected to serve as attorney general while attending Girls State.

    Mrs. Nancy Horne, employed at the Winona Lake Bible Conference Center, recently attended the International Association of Conference Secretaries in St. Louis, Mo. More than 800 conference secretaries or office managers attended the three-day conference. She competed with other registered secretaries, and as a result of her scores in typing, filing, dictation, transcription, word processing, and office management, she was selected by the International Association of Conference Secretaries as the “World’s Best Secretary.”

   The beautiful new Warsaw Senior High School which is located on 22 acres on East Smith Street, was opened this morning for classes for the first time. The land for the four-wing building was donated to Warsaw Community schools by Robert P. Gast.

    The book for the cinema production, “I Met Him in Paris,” which will be featured at the Centennial Theatre, next Sunday and Monday, was written by Helen Meinardi. Many persons in Warsaw and Winona Lake will remember Miss Meinardi who resided for many years at Winona Lake and attended high school in Warsaw.
