    This year's Homes on Parade features seven homes constructed by seven builders in Deeds Creek, a subdivision on CR 225E north of CR 75N in Warsaw.

T.L. Jackson Construction, Syracuse, was the big winner, capturing the "best overall" award. Finishing second in the overall category was Legacy Homes, Warsaw.

    Kosciusko County Assessor Avis Gunter and former Wayne Township Assessor Garold R. Horrick were inducted into the Kosciusko County GOP Hall of Fame during a Republican dinner meeting at the Shrine Building.


50 Years Ago

September 5 1957

    Last week, Forrest Ranstead brought home a cow from Shipshewana about midnight one night. Next afternoon she got out through a gate and disappeared. Search parties looked high and low without success so Forrest called in a radio bulletin. Maybe the cow heard the WRSW broadcast. At any rate, she found her way home about 10 p.m.

    At the state fair in Indianapolis the Kosciusko County male quartet in the singing competition of district No. 2 was winner in the mixed group of songsters. John J. Boyle, of Warsaw, and Floyd Steven, Harold Ulrey and Harry Mishler, of Seward Township are the quartet.
