    Brian Warren of the Wawasee FFA Chapter was recently named the 1998 State Agricultural Sales and/or Service Proficiency winner.

All FFA members are encouraged to develop an agriculturally related wage earning or entrepreneurship project as part of their FFA activities.

    The Warsaw Dental Center, as part of its County Fair promotion, gave away a Tappan microwave oven. The lucky winners were Bernis and Jane Stookey, Leesburg. The Warsaw Dental Center is owned by Dr. Stephen Hunt.

September 4 1958

    Warsaw American Legion Auxiliary chorus took fifth and its quartet second in the national music contest in Chicago.

Mrs. Donald Hogan, Mrs. Kenneth Busselberg, Mrs. John Kinsey and Mrs. Joe Watkins, who sang in the quartet, were accompanied by Mrs. Ralph Coplen.

September 4 1933

    A report was made to Police Chief Frank R. Lucas by Leolin "Bud" Moon, Warsaw fire truck driver, that a very valuable ham weighing six pounds, which Moon intended to use for sandwiches this week, had been stolen.

Lucas was preparing to start an immediate investigation when Moon remarked: "Oh, I found the thief, it was my dog Pep."
