    Matt Kloser, Warsaw Future Business Leaders of America member, finished ninth in the nation in competition at the FBLA National Leadership Conference. Kloser, who graduated last year, represented Warsaw Community High School and Indiana in the public speaking event.

Also participating were members Ryan Dickhoff, Karen Laker, Mike Morrison, Megan Piazza, Joe Stanley, Tristan Smith, Mike Wall, Ryan Weidenbenner, Stephanie Woodward and Danielle Yoder.

    POTPOURRI - Belated Congratulations - To Pierceton's Randa Huff, who was chosen 1983 South Whitley Bed Race Festival queen recently. A 15-year-old sophomore at Whitko High School, she is the daughter of Tony Huff and Becky O'Dell, both of Pierceton.

    Second Lieutenant Jack Spearman, of North Webster, is in student officer pilot training at Webb Air Force Base, Texas. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. F.R. Spearman, of North Webster. The lieutenant is a graduate of Ball State College, of Muncie.

    A 920-pound Hereford steer owned by Mary Jane Carl, of Bourbon, which won first prize in the 4-H club exhibit at the Bourbon fair, was bought by the Robinson Market of Warsaw for 13 cents a pound.
