Baker Youth Clubs recently held its 75th annual awards banquet. More than 40 trophies and other awards were presented to its members. Among those present were Brent Blackburn, Nick Poe, Kourtney Jervis, Patrick Karchewski, Braxton Grose, Marcos Aquire, Jenny Logan, Cody Hoffer, Chris Colt, Ashley Miller, Josh Lozano, Justin Stuckey, Miranda Zellmer, Mallory Zellmer, Jenny Kessler, Katie Logan, Michael Blackburn, Scott Wiley, Cory Chambers, James Wills, Zac Chambers, Adam Griggs and Barry Hartman.

Chris Frazzettas and Warsaw quarterback Kevin Cox both joined in the celebration after Frazzetta’s 35-yard field goal gave Warsaw a 29-28 lead with 1:26 remaining in Friday’s Homecoming thriller at Fisher Field. The score held up in the Tigers’ Northern Lakes Conference battle with Goshen, giving Warsaw a 3-1 conference mark.

Michelle Haines and Chad Gallentine were crowned homecoming queen and king during ceremonies at the football game. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Haines, and he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gallentine.

Garth Thompson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Thompson, of Warsaw, has accepted a job with Space Technology Laboratory in Los Angeles. Garth, who just finished work on his master’s degree at Purdue, and his wife, who received her degree in music at Brigham Young University, are living in Torrance, Calif.

A new 80-horsepower International Diesel motor, weighing more than 4,000 pounds, was installed at the Collins Ice Cream Company here, it was announced today by owner Ed Collins. The new motor will furnish power for the entire line of machinery at the factory, including the ice cream mixer, artificial ice equipment, soft drink machines, lights and water pumps. The motor is a huge six-cylinder machine, cost more than $2,700 and has a capacity speed of 1,400 R.P.M.
