Robert Raypholtz, who drives for D.R. Smith Trucking Inc., Akron, received the Master Truck Driver Award from the Indiana Motor Truck Association. One of the requirements is to have driven one million accident-free miles over at least three years. Raypholtz has been a professional driver for 32 years and has accumulated more than two million accident-free miles. He organized the northeastern Indiana portion of the World’s Longest Truck Convoy held in honor of Special Olympics.
The Integrity Group, a real estate sales team with RE/Max Rainbow in Syracuse, ranked among the top 10 teams statewide in June and among the top 20 for July. The sales team includes Amanda and Dan Harstine, Lana Deatsman, Lisa Zillman and Deb Paton-Showley.

Three new teachers have joined the staff of Redeemer Lutheran School, 1720 E. Center St., Warsaw: Kristen Andrzejewski, Patsy Bock and Shawn Sisel.
Future Homemakers of America chapter at Warsaw High School has been chosen as the Indiana state winner in the “NutraSweet Giving It 100% Award for Community Service.” Members provided food for Red Cross Bloodmobile donors, and assisted Combined Community Services by baking and wrapping 500 cakes and preparing holiday meals. Carol Plew, chapter advisor, and WCHS assistant principal Bob Huffman, accepted the plaque.
Students at Claypool Elementary School recognized National DARE Day Thursday by spelling out the program name on the playground and having a balloon launch.

Warsaw Senior High School speech students were treated to a demonstration on applying makeup for aging the face when Jeanne Lucas, Wagon Wheel Playhouse, described what she used in her role as “Mrs. Pierce” and the housekeeper in “My Fair Lady.” Mrs. Herbert Petrie is head of the speech department at the high school.

Enthusiasm is mounting to a new high in the city softball as more girl teams are being organized. A call was sent out over the weekend for any girls interested to meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Style Shop, West Center Street. Harry Reich, proprietor, and his daughter Harriet are anticipating a good turnout as he’s planning to outfit the squad in uniforms and with the necessary equipment.
Mr. and Mrs. William Chinworth left Friday for a week’s boating excursion on the Great Lakes, which was provided as an award to Chinworth for his sales of the greatest number of Philco radios in this section. They embarked from Navy Pier, Chicago, and the trip will extend as far east as Buffalo, N.Y. making numerous scenic stops enroute.
