    The U.S. Coast Guard recently presented Dr. James Bohlin and Barry Bylls with the prestigious Coast Guard Sustained Auxiliary Service Award. Bohlin, of Warsaw, and Bylls, of Pierceton, earned the award by volunteering more than 750 hours from January 1996 to January 1997.

    The Warsaw Community High School Marching Tiger Band won second place in the Class B. competition at Kokomo Haworth Marching Invitational recently. The Tigerette Auxiliary won best auxiliary special award in Class B competition.

September 26 1957

    Bourbon's vegetable judging team won third place in the recent contest conducted at the state fair. They are Mark Martin, Jerry Border, John Kruyer, Leanell Rettinger, Delores Cook, Robert and Jerry Chenoweth, Mary Roahrig, Robert and David Banic and Larry Hall.


75 Years Ago

September 26 1932

    Warsaw merchants are co-operating in the distribution of the largest edition of any newspaper ever published in this city, for the greatest "Dollar Day" event in our history.

Eighteen thousand copies of this big edition goes by mail over rural routes in Kosciusko and adjoining counties, supplemented by a merchants' committee of carriers in other towns.
