Two local Republicans were inducted into the Kosciusko County Hall of Fame recently. Marlene Weller worked for years behind the scenes, and Maurie Beer, of Milford, is a former township trustee and Kosciusko County Commissioner.
Awards were presented recently to Rozella Ford Golf Course 9-hole women's players for A,B,C and D flights. They are Shirley Clay, A flight winner; Sharodene Morris, A flight runner-up and most improved; Margaret Stutzman, B flight and Owen's tourney winner; Elsie Swanson, B flight runner-up; Arloa Kurowsky, C flight winner; Arlene Sisk, C flight runner-up; Sonya Gilbert, D flight winner; Nancy Tapp, D flight runner-up; and Joelyn Hepler, sportsmanship award.
Don Enyeart, chief town marshal at Syracuse, radioed the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Dept. from "Syracuse Car 20," the third county police car to be equipped with a two-way radio so that town officers can contact the sheriff in a hurry. Pierceton and Winona Lake police cars are the others so equipped.
