    Five women took the stage in the activity tent to hoots of "Go, Grandma!" during the second annual Our Lady Of Kosciusko pageant held recently.

LaMora Longyear, nominated by her granddaughter, Rhonda Norris, was given the crown. The former teacher served area schools for 50 years, retiring in 1982.

    The XI Epsilon chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority has awarded a $500 four-year scholarship to Purdue sophomore Laura Holmes, Warsaw. The scholarship is for speech and hearing students from Kosciusko County. Linda Furnivall, chairman of the sorority's fair queen contest from which the funds came, presented the check to Laura

    Merle Shively, Robert Caywood, Max Tinkey, Avery Garber and Curtis Garber, all of Warsaw, attended the twi-night double-header baseball games at Chicago between the White Sox and Detroit.

    At a special session of the Kosciusko County Council held recently, County Councilman Omer N. Igo was again named to represent the council on the Kosciusko County Tax Adjustment Board. This is the third time that Igo has been named to the tax adjustment board. He has been a consistent advocate of economy in administrative affairs.
