Trent Martin, son of Junior and Becky Martin, was recently presented with the Garber Award at the Warsaw Little League. The award is based on ability, mental attitude and sportsmanship.
The Special Blend Band, which performs regularly in the Plymouth-Warsaw area, provided back-up music for a Conway Twitty concert at Buck Lake Ranch recently and also will be performing in the final competition of a 1983 country music talent search contest in Angola.
Mrs. Will M. Bennett, Mrs. Chester Cooley and Mrs. E.W. Thomas placed first, second and third, respectively, in nine-hole play at the Tippecanoe Golf Club recently. Mrs. Don Lessig was best in low putts.
David Poor, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Poor of near Warsaw, has been chosen a member of the clarinet section of the Purdue University band. Poor was a former member of the American Legion band and a former student of the Warsaw Conservatory of Music.
