10 Years Ago The Old Jail Museum, 121 N. Indiana St., will have a display of Shackelford-painted china, featuring flowers and fruit, through mid-October. Local collectors Ron and Marge Himes were introduced to the work of Emma Grabner Shackelford by a former student, Jean Lucas. She taught watercolor and china painting in the basement of her husband Tiffin’s office at 214 S. Buffalo St. for years in the early part of the century. The Shackelfords lived next door, 216 S. Buffalo, which later served as a dental office for Dr. James Baker. In the late 1940s, the house became the site of Shera Funeral Home, then the Kelly Funeral Home.
