The Program and Education Committee of the Kosciusko County Historical Society staged a re-enactment of the signing of the Constitution. About 400 persons witnessed the signing, which took place at the Old Jail Museum. Afterward, viewers signed an affirmation of the Constitution. Both will later be buried in a time capsule. All 12 delegates were present in colonial costume. George Washington, portrayed by Bill Camden, presided over the delegation during the presentation.

Warsaw Mayor Paul (Mike) Hodges removed dirt from a channel allowing water to flow from the Tippecanoe River into Center Lake. This is the first time in more than 80 years that the water from Tippecanoe can flow directly into Center Lake. City officials have renovated the drainage system in the area so that now Center Lake can be augmented by water from the river. The only water that previously flowed into the lake came through a tile from Pike Lake.

Kosciusko County can boast of one of the most attractive and beautifully furnished public offices in this section of the state, that of the county department of public welfare. The laying of a new linoleum, marbleized and of red shade is the floor covering. New furniture installed recently included a modern and artistic walnut desk, and two chairs to match. Mrs. Nellie Arnold, director, is especially pleased with the new decorations, which it is believed is only a beginning of hoped for improvements.
