Police Chief Robert Ziller and Officer Jim Felkner were featured in the dunk tank. 50 Years Ago Glen Bryant, Country Club Road, is retiring after 40 years of service as superintendent of Da-Lite Screen Co. He was one of the company’s men from Chicago sent to help organize the plant when it was established in Warsaw in 1957. George Lenke, president, shared “bachelor’s quarters” with him. Chester “Chet” Cooley, chairman of the board, presented Bryant with a portable TV and a set of luggage. 75 Years Ago Dickie Dean, soap box derby champ in 1938, would like to get back into the race again this year but is ineligible under the regulations that no former city champ may participate again. He said he’d miss sitting in the cockpit, waiting impatiently to start, the cheering of crowds and the joy when you realize you’ve crossed the finish line first.
