Warsaw Fire Department members attended The Platters and The Coasters concert at the Ramada Wagon Wheel Theatre Saturday. The show was just a side benefit to a more serious subject, as the men answered questions about the Sept. 11 tragedies in New York City and Washington, D.C. They also spoke to the public about their job and explained some of their procedures and responsibilities. Invited by the Wagon Wheel management, the firefighters served to both comfort and legitimize the collection of donations for the New York Firefighters 9-11 Disaster Relief Fund.

Still to be done is sealing and lining work on the repaved track around the football field. It is expected to be completed in time for next week’s homecoming game against Goshen.

Now it is being painted silver.
