A practical and scientific device for testing the refraction of the eye has recently been perfected by Dr. V.M. Sears of Burden's optical store. It is now being marketed under a U.S. patent application. This invention utilizes Duo-Chrome (double color) principles and is based on the chromatic aberration of the eye. The instrument measures near-sightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism and prevents over-correcting and under-correction in the prescription of glasses.
