    Manchester College has been named a “best value” and a “best college,” according to rankings released today by U.S. News & World Report. Manchester also was recognized for graduating students with low debt. In its 2003 America’s Best Colleges guide, U.S. News ranked Manchester College the seventh best value among Midwestern comprehensive colleges. Only two Indiana colleges or universities were ranked in the top 25 in this category.

    The pupils at Warsaw Christian School observed the 200th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution with a special program, highlighted by a mock trial. The sixth-grade class held a mock trial, presided over by local attorney Paul Refior, whose daughter is a pupil at the school.
      Dr. Leonard Williams, associate professor of political science at Manchester College, was at Claypool Elementary School Tuesday to discuss the events that led to the signing of the U.S. Constitution 200 years ago.

     Editor Curtis (Gabby) Garber will find himself back at his old stand Friday night when he pinch hits for Times-Union sports editor Don Derry by covering the WHS-Hartford City football game here. Don’s on a Wisconsin visit and fishing trip with wife, Suzie, and two small youngsters.
  Carl, Paul and Jim Latta, and Ralph Lichtenwalter, all of Warsaw, have returned from a 10-day fishing trip in Minnesota.

    Mrs. Hannah Paine, Warsaw, has been awarded a fine new $160 Crosley Shelvadore electric refrigerator by the Kellogg Company, delivered a few days ago to her through Mellencamp’s Furniture Store of Warsaw. Mrs. Paine was one of many  contest winners of prizes awarded contestants required to complete the text of a comic strip. Fill-ins were limited to 20 words.The cartoons appeared in an advertising campaign conducted by the Kellogg Company in newspapers throughout the country.
