   Accountability is the watchword of the federal government’s No Child Left Behind Act, the Warsaw School Board learned recently.
According to assistant superintendent Sandra Hess, the new law, which went into effect Jan. 8 changes the federal government’s role in education by making the government more involved. The law, she said, asks schools to “describe their success in terms of what each student accomplishes.”

   Warsaw Mayor Jeff Plank gained the nod of 65 percent of respondents to a Times-Union poll of registered city voters. Democratic challenger Ron Dirck had 8 percent, while those undecided accounted for 27 percent. each respondent to the poll was asked if they are a registered city voter and intended to vote in November.

   Ross Baney, of Etna Green, Richard Baney and Tom Eby of Bourbon, Verl Baney of Fort Wayne, Howard Baney of South Bend, Douglas Hoffer of Hoffman Lake and Marion Baney, of Warsaw, recently returned from a fishing vacation in Ontario Province. They caught wall-eyed pike and bass.

   Announcement was made by Chester Jontz, secretary of the Kosciusko County fair association, that this year all free attractions will be in one place, the court house lawn. Members of the executive board expect to announce the attractions next week. Arrangements were completed and instructions were given on the placing of the exhibits at a meeting.
