    Ramada Plaza Hotel Women's Bridge Group met recently with five tables playing. Winners were: Ione Jonas, Eileen Burgher, Ruth Chapp, Gayle Gonser and Isobel Pfeiffer. Hostess was Lucy Whiteneck.

September 15 1984

    The residents at Miller's Merry Manor were treated to the sight of two grown men flying a kite (actually a parasail) recently. Michael Perry and his brother, Patrick, were visiting their father, Charles, who is a resident at the local nursing home. Michael became attracted to the kite-flying hobby while in California, and decided to share his hobby with the residents.

September 15 1959

    Miss Beverly Summy, awarded a scholarship by the Dalton Foundation when she graduated from Warsaw High School in 1956, is on the dean's list of of outstanding students at Ashland College, Ashland, Ohio. Her grandparents are Mrs. John Summy, of Leesburg, and Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Becknell of Warsaw.

September 15 1934

    A large amateur circus will be staged by the Valentine unit of the Chicago Boys' club camp at Winona Lake. More than 150 boys will participate in the presentation.

A large number of imitation animals have been made, among which are horses, elephants, bears, monkeys and giraffes. A circus band will be directed by 6-year-old Joseph J. Grill, one of Chicago's youngest band leaders.
