    First-grade teacher Kim Eiser shows students a flag with 48 stars that came out of the time capsule in the school's cornerstone. The cornerstone, which was sealed in 1930, was opened recently at Mentone Elementary in a special ceremony.

    MUNCIE - Six Kosciusko County residents attended the Mid-America Band-Orchestra-Choir Clinic held this summer at Ball State University.

They are Mike Eastman, Jennifer Jorczak and Eric Metcalf, Leesburg; Angi Barton and Amy Parr, North Webster; and David Blackwell, Syracuse.

    Lieutenant Commander Claude I. Tully, son of Mr. and Mrs. C.I. Tully, Claypool, is attending the naval war college at Newport, R.I. Officers from all branches of the armed forces are assigned to the war college for courses in strategy and leadership.

September 15 1933

    Fraternity members and guests of the Kappa Alpha Phi fraternity enjoyed a wiener roast west of Warsaw along Tippecanoe River. Guests of the evening were: Merrill Foster, Kenneth Breading, Leo Helvey, Paul Vermillion, Austin Helser, Robert Delp and Roger Davis. Members present were: Charles Miller, Lawrence Smith, Irwin Bucher, Raymond Smith, Russell Meredith, Charlton Jhelps, Jake Menzie, Roderick Amos, Stanley Hull, Carlton Stewart, Earl Smith, Robert Whiteneck and Freeland Phillips.
