Open barely a year, Warsaw’s Stonehenge Golf Course made an excellent impression upon the 12 PGA pros who participated in Monday’s Pro-Am Charity Classic. Tournament director Denny Hepler congratulated the winning team of Denny Hively, Dan Arthur, Gary Hallberg, Bob Kesler and Greg Hardin who fired a 15-under par score of 56.

1939 Soap Box Derby entrants in your Daily Times-Munson Motor Sales classic are thrilled at the possibility of holding their second annual race July 12 on the White Hill, U.S. Hwy. 30, east of the McDonald Hospital. Permission to block the highway a quarter-mile for this event was granted through the courtesy of Superintendent Edward Ragan and the state highway department. Traffic will be re-routed north to the Chapman Lake Road and sent east and then south back to the thoroughfare east of the Jonas filling station. Cars will attain a much greater speed than last year when Dickie Dean sent his orange and blue Gamble store special streaking across the finish line, and it will be prove to be much smoother. Preparations are underway to erect the course telephones, flags, starting ramp, pits and selecting officials. Lydia Stokes, Munson, is accepting entries.
