Indiana Boys & Girls Club Workers Association honored retirees at their Aug. 30 meeting in Columbus. Those honored included Robert Lichtenwalter, Baker Boys Club of Warsaw. The five retirees totaled 192 years of service in the field.
Terry S. Polston began his job as the newest patrolman on the Warsaw Police Dept. on the late shift Tuesday (Aug. 31), according to Police Chief Samie Brown. Polston, 26, was hired two weeks ago to replace Lt. John Lehman, who retired from the force.
Mrs. Charles Pinkerton was elected president of the Senior Adult class of the Atwood Methodist Church at a picnic meeting held at Rarick's landing, Huffman Lake.
Former County Clerk C.D. Longenecker, of northeast of this city, called at the Times office to renew his Daily Times subscription for the 54th consecutive year he has been a subscriber to this publication. Longenecker became a Northern Indianian reader when he was 18 years of age and had the paper follow him to Dayton, Ohio, and later to the Dakotas, but for more than 50 years has been receiving it in this county.
