10 Years Ago Warsaw native and current Chicago Rush fullback/linebacker Jamie Bowers is still in the spotlight as he travels to Arizona this weekend to play in the Arena Football League Championship Semifinals. Bowers and the Rush will take on the Arizona Rattlers Sunday. The game will be televised. 25 Years Ago Prices were up at the 4-H livestock auction Friday at the Kosciusko County fair as buyers increased the total amount spent by more than $36,000 over last year. A total of 354 animals were sold at the auction, an increase of only 18 animals from last year. But the prices were much better. Grand total for the sale was $164,366.43 in 1986. 50 Years Ago Snyder’s IGA Grocery in North Manchester, located at the west edge of town on Ind. 114, was gutted by fire early this morning causing damage estimated upward from $200,000. The grocery, owned by brothers Paul and Gene Snyder, broke into flames between 12:30 and 1 a.m. and the heat was so intense that windows were popping out when fire-fighting units arrived. The building was built about seven years ago by the Snyders. 75 Years Ago Mrs. Milo Horn, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Stryckers, James and Thelma McPherron recently left on a 10-day motor trip to Niagara Falls, New York City, and into New Jersey where they will visit with friends and relatives. On their return trip they will stop in Washington, D.C.
