   When a sports team competes in a tournament, each member must put on their best game face and give it their all more than ever before. Recently, the Lake City Skiers did just that to place fourth at the 2002 Master Craft Division II National Show Ski Tournament at Rock Island, Ill. Members competing were Gary Hawblitzel, Chris Wilson and Jeff Estes. Tracey Patrick placed first in individual swivel ski competition at nationals.

   One Burket family took home three of the top honors from the beef show at the 4-H Fair. Todd Nelson, 18, took home the grand champion beef trophy with his 1,165-pound crossbred steer. Earlier in the day, Nelson won the grand champion heifer trophy with his cross bred heifer. His brother, Scott Nelson, claimed the champion county bred and raised steer honors. Scott is 16 years old. The Nelsons are the sons of Mike and Karen Nelson.

   Jeannine Witham, of Atwood, a student at Purdue University, will be featured in the first Hoosier “U” Revue to be held at the Indiana State Fair Aug. 25 and 26. Under the direction of Albert P. Stewart, of Purdue, the Hoosier “U” will combine the top musical talent from 12 Indiana colleges and universities in a musical tribute to Hoosierland.

   Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wiltrout, of Warsaw, sent a telegram to friends in Warsaw from the top of Pikes Peak. They have began their return trip home after spending two weeks in the west.
   Dr. F.Q. Iams and wife have returned to their home at Allison Park, Pa., after a week’s stay at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Taylor of east of Leesburg. Dr. Iams and Mr. Taylor are cousins.
