Merchandise lined the streets in front of Bourbon Lumber Inc. recently in preparation for the auction that liquidated the business. The closing of the firm leaves the town without a lumber yard for the first time in nearly 100 years.
Anthony Lozier, Warsaw, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lozier, was among the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology graduates. Approximately 250 students were conferred degrees at the college's 106th commencement exercises.
The Misses Eloise and Mary Jane Lucier, of Rochester, N. Y., arrived to spend some time with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Lucier, Winona Lake. The girls flew from Rochester to Fort Wayne with their father, Phil Lucier.
The widely heralded Standard Oil Company animal parade, with its picturesque and colorful replicas of jungle beasts, mounted on big circus trucks, rolled through Warsaw's main streets today, attracting unusual attention. Locally the parade helped break the day's monotony and in particular delighted the school children by its novelty and uniqueness.
