    PIERCETON - First-place winners of the Aug. 1 children's tractor pull, for kids ages 3 to 9, were: 35 pounds and under, Trae Furnivall; 36-45 pounds, Stuart Hanft; 46-60 pounds, Spencer Weikart; 61-75 pounds, James Tash; and 76-90 pounds, Bryan Boggs.

August 6 1983

    Marty Manuel, 17, Warsaw, won the Grand Champion Steer trophy after showing his 1,315-pound Crossbred steer, "Mister Big," in the 4-H Beef Show at the Kosciusko County Fair. He also won the Champion Crossbred steer trophy. He is the son of Claude and Linda Manuel.

August 6 1958

    Karen Latimer, 17, of Beaver Dam, exhibited the Fat Lamb Champion at the Kosciusko County Fair for the third consecutive year.

Karen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Latimer, also won in 1952, '53 and '54 in addition to 1956, '57 and now 1958.

August 6 1933

    Many Warsaw and Atwood persons formed a party attending the Chicago fair making the trip via Dan Wrigley's big motor bus. Among them were Mr. and Mrs. Victor Zenner, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Shaw, Rose Davis, Georgia Goshert, Mrs. Butler, Mrs. Lottie Clase and Forest Wolf, all of Warsaw, and Mrs. Charles Fields and daughter, Mary, Mrs. Reuben Hoffer and daughter, Helen, Jane Bradway and granddaughter, Maxine Yarman, Mrs. Nora Murphy and daughter, Edna, and son, Clayton, Mrs. Rea Harman and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Cochern and son, Junior, of Atwood.
