Robert Murphy came before the Warsaw City Council Aug. 1 to present Baker Youth Club's proposal to move its facilities to the old Endicott Church Furniture location on West Market St., showing architectural drawings for a new building.  
Mentone's 8-under Town & Country baseball team finished the season with a record year and as a state runner-up July 24: Alec Craig, Jare Littlejohn, Jordan Fraser, Alex Thackler, Isaac Sponseller, Ty Doan, Chase Jones, Drake Hyden, Chainey Zolman, Bryce Zimpleman, Wes Beck, Caylie Teel and Neil Clampitt. Coaches are Matt Fraser, Ron Shewman, Doug Clampitt and Jay Craig.

Nancy L. Dain, daughter of Jerry and Letitia Dain, Dewart Lake, was chosen from 200 hopefuls to portray “Dale” of Chip & Dale at Disney World Epcot. She has studied dance for 11 years at Lee Ann Stewart Dance Studios, teaching two years.
Several Warsaw craftsmen and artists will display their wares at the 28th annual Amish Acres Arts & Crafts Festival Aug. 9-12: Carl Burt, Pat Hauth, Robin Weissert, Jayne Gault, Jo Fields, Mary Ann Bules, Frank Greco and Suzie Lichtenwalter.

 Lorna Dallas stars in “South Pacific,” which opened July 20 at the Wagon Wheel Playhouse and will continue through Aug. 2. She played Maria in “The Sound of Music” last season. After her summer here, she will return to the Indiana University Music School to teach voice lessons and prepare for her New York debut.
Girls softball: Zulu Zombies banged out a 33-6 decision over the Gorilla Girls as Liz Enders and Charla Smith each collected four hits and Carol Farrar homered. Marion Frid hit safely two times for the Gorilla Girls and Betsy List suffered the loss. The Gorilla Girls play the Jungle Jerks Monday.

Clarence B. Heitman is the 14th person to put in an application for Warsaw patrolman. Since Robert (Link) Hay and Charles (Bush) Rice resigned, there have been two vacancies in the department.
