Attending the Indiana State FFA Convention at Purdue University were Lindsay Crosby, Renee Deatsman, Sarah Ferguson, Amy Johnson, Kara Choate, Jennifer Conley, Jennifer Long, Ranae Payton, Jacob Fitzsimmons, John Hartings, Clayton Rohn and Justin Moneyheffer, all on the Warsaw team. Angie Bailey and Carly Smoker were voting delegates.
Former Times-Union correspondent Larry E. Williams has made the switch from reporting the news of the world to proclaiming the "good news." He was sports-general assignment reporter with the Times-Union for 2-1/2 years and was recently called as assistant pastor at First Baptist Church in Delphi.
A search for the owner of shoes, underwear, blue jeans and a T-shirt--left on the beach at Waubee Lake a mile southeast of Milford ended this morning when 17-year-old John Young, of Milford, arrived on the scene to claim his clothing. Searchers were poised to look for a possible drowning victim. But all is well. Young came back to claim his clothing which he missed, when he was getting ready for work the next morning.
Drought conditions in Kosciusko County have already cost the farmers a loss unofficially estimated at $50,000, according to J. Alva Mellott, emergency agriculture agent. The corn crop is cut one-third; oats made only about a fourth of a crop and in many parts of the county soy beans are a failure.
