    Everett Judy, 99, was named the oldest man at the fair on Senior Citizens' Day.

Also, Dan and Annette Slabaugh won the drawing for a grill that was given away at the county fair by Miller's Merry Manor.

    Area youths who have participated in 4-H activities for the past 10 years were honored during the Annual Tenure Awards at Warsaw Community High School. They are: Ramona Kines, Cindy Bolinger, Kathy Butt, DeShawn VanDeWater, Mark Martin Jr., Jeremy Kuhn, Stacy Wall, Teresa Patrick and Dale Young.

    Turkey Creek Township Calvin Beck announced that Lowell Detweiler, of Goshen, and Mrs. Arlen Bobeck, of Syracuse, will be new teachers at the Syracuse School this year.

Beck said Detweiler will be science teacher and Bobeck will teach one of the sections of the first grade.

August 4 1933

    Warsaw road boosters were interested in the program of the state highway commission, just announced from Fort Wayne, that the Lincoln Highway, No. 30, is to be made a superhighway, with a three-lane pavement, 30 feet wide and a 120-foot right-of-way. The plan calls for the highway to be improved in this manner entirely across the state of Indiana.
