    Ashley Winn of Winona Lake was honored for outstanding academic achievement at Case Western Reserve University.

Winn, an engineering major, was named to the dean's honor list.

August 4 1982

    Brad Atchison and Chad Hopkins, underclassmen on last year's Warsaw Community High School track and field team, have been named 1982 United States National Award winners in track by the United States Achievement Academy Official Yearbook.

Atchison was a state qualifier and regional champion in the long jump as a junior this past year. He is the son of Betty and Mike Atchison. Hopkins, who will be a sophomore and was a sprinter for the Tigers, is the son of Terry and Carolyn Hopkins.

August 4 1957

    Here's a real "Believe It Or Not" in Kosciusko County. Sam Meade Jr., 14, of Sidney, found a 1-day old baby chick which has four legs while "de-beaking" for Robert Merkle, of southeast of Claypool. Merkle said this is the first four-legged chicken he has seen out of 1 million hatched. Sam is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Meade.

    The Warsaw unit of the Indiana Poultry Co-Op Inc. has just received information from their sales office in New York that government-grade eggs shipped from Warsaw, July 30, have been sold for as high as 25 cents per dozen.

For the first time, Indiana eggs have sold on an equal with Pacific coast eggs, which will be very gratifying to egg producers in this county.
