Thirty-seven golfers participated in Cardinal Center’s third annual Million Dollar Hole-in-One Golf Shoot Out finals at Stonehenge Golf Course recently.

Bob Strombeck, Leesburg, had the closest final shot from the million dollar hole at a distance of 6 feet, 11-1/2 inches. While no one aced the million-dollar hole or either of the $15,000 jackpot holes. Teresa Smith, the media finalist from the sponsor/media day festivities, hit the pin of one of the $15,000 jackpot holes.

This recipe was from the Spotlight Recipe Contest for Peanut Butter Swirl Bars.

1/2 cup crunchy peanut butter; 1/3 cup butter; 3/4 cup brown sugar; 3/4 cup sugar; 2 eggs; 2 tsp. vanilla; 1 cup flour; 1 tsp. baking powder; 1/4 tsp salt; 12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips.

Cream butter, peanut butter and sugars. Beat in eggs and vanilla. In a small mixing bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt; blend flour mixture into peanut butter mixture. Spread into greased 13x9 pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips over top. Place in 350 degree oven for five minutes. Run knife through to marbleize. Return to oven and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Mrs. James E. Johnson and daughter, Francie, of Warsaw, have returned from a three-week vacation in Colorado and California. They spent the first 10 days at a dude ranch in Estes Park in the rockies, then flew to Los Angeles to meet the rest of the family. Jim Johnson, David and Mark, and two nephews, Steven and Ray Isted, of Orlando, Fla., are touring the west in a station wagon.

Miss Georgia Valentine, who has spent the past two weeks visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Valentine, of near Warsaw, returned to Chicago where she has been employed with the Marshall Field company for three years.

Miss Genita Smith recently went to Chicago where she will visit the Sherwood school of Music of the Chicago Musical College from which she is graduated.
