    Larry Hapner Jr. of rural Claypool was honored as a hero at Whitko's School Board meeting.

Larry, 14, is credited with saving his father's life June 29 when an RV he was working on fell on him.

    Receiving Warsaw men's softball league awards were Mitch Brown accepting the Doug Moore Award for contributions to the league, and Kelly Fields, the league's home run champion.

August 23 1957

    Patricia Smith, winner of the Kosciusko County 4-H dress revue, will appear on the noon farm program on Channel 33.

Smith, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith, Warsaw, will model her prize-winning dress.

75 Years Ago

August 23 1932

    Three hundred barrels of flour, provided by the government from the government-owned surplus purchased in the farm relief program, will be distributed to needy families in Kosciusko County. The local Red Cross committee received acknowledgement of the request and information that 300 barrels had been allotted this county for distribution by the township trustees.

The 300-barrel allotment will come here in the form of wheat from government leased granaries and will be ground into flour at the Smith Mills, of this city.
